Introducing Todd & Weld's New Website
Todd & Weld, a mid-size litigation boutique firm based in Boston, is known for their ability to try – and win – high-stakes cases for a high-end clientele. But that level of sophistication wasn’t being reflected on the firm’s website, which was ineffective in capturing who the firm is today or what differentiates Todd & Weld from the other competitor firms. The site design wasn’t particularly engaging, it failed to incorporate newer UX and technical best practices, and although the site’s messaging may have accurately reflected the firm’s brand positioning, it wasn’t presented in a compelling or engaging manner. In short, their website lacked energy.
Our Solution
We were tasked with giving Todd & Weld a new website that visually positions them as a firm capable of handling the same level of work as some other larger firms they compete against and sets them apart from the other litigation boutique firms. As a firm that offers both plaintiff and defense litigation services to both business institutions as well as individuals, the solution became a bit tricky.
We chose custom photography of Todd & Weld’s people in action as the main visual focus of the new website. Using their own people humanizes the firm and creates a stronger connection between the attorneys and potential clients.
Adding Color & Vibrancy
For the featured practice areas, we used color overlays on the photography and for the bio photos, we chose an environmental style that feels modern and places the attorneys within a natural setting. The contrast between the color overlay style and the colorful attorney photos makes the bios stand out.
A More Streamlined Bio
For the bio page layout, we followed best practices for law firm websites: big, engaging imagery; a clean, minimalistic layout; clear impact statements that give viewers an immediate takeaway; card-based layouts; thought leadership promotion; and a streamlined, “snackable” content presentation.
Todd & Weld’s new website is now visually appealing, easily navigable, and it dynamically demonstrates what sets Todd & Weld apart as a litigation boutique. Powered by Herrmann EasyEdit, the website is flexible and easily-managed by the client’s marketing team.
